Brief Job Summary

The accounting specialist is responsible for supporting the accounting manager with the daily accounting and compliance operations of ProsperityME including production of periodic financial reports, payroll support, billing, AP/AR, preparation of 1099s, maintenance of a system of accounting records, and controls designed to ensure accuracy of the company’s financial position in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
(GAAP).

Requirements

The accounting specialist is responsible for supporting the accounting manager with the daily accounting and compliance operations of ProsperityME including production of periodic financial reports, payroll support, billing, AP/AR, preparation of 1099s, maintenance of a system of accounting records, and controls designed to ensure accuracy of the company’s financial position in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles(GAAP).


Accountant Responsibilities

  • Prepare bank deposits.

  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

  • Assist with 1099s

  • Account Reconciliations

  • Other accounting support as needed


Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Conditions Required

  • Nonprofit accounting

  • A/P, Account Reconciliations

  • Experience using QuickBooks Online

  • Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

  • Strong Microsoft Office Experience, particularly in Excel

  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently and within deadlines.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to undergo criminal background check.
