Campaign Coordinator Job Description

 

Founded in 2009, ProsperityME is a growing 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Portland, Maine. ProsperityME empowers, through education and counseling, members of refugee and immigrant communities to invest in themselves to build financial stability, careers, businesses and wealth.

 

In 2017, ProsperityME developed the PROSPER Scholarship Program to provide Maine’s talented and hardworking asylum-seekers the opportunity to attend a Maine community college for two years. With an associate degree, these young people will get the education and training they need to become competitive in the workplace. While we are proud to have fully funded up to two years of tuition at Maine community colleges and universities for 22 students — at a total cost of $119,373, this only scratches the surface, as approximately 400 asylum-seeking young people are enrolled in our public schools in any given year.  To address this need, ProsperityME is planning to conduct a $2 Million fundraising campaign.

 

A Scholarship Fundraising Committee has been formed, and together with staff and Campaign Counsel, is in the process of planning the campaign.  ProsperityME is seeking a dynamic, energetic, self-starter to join the team in a part-time role to coordinate all aspects of the capital campaign. 

 

This position is currently a part-time, temporary role with the with the possibility of becoming a permanent position after the completion of the campaign.  The Campaign Coordinator will work closely with the Scholarship Campaign Committee and Campaign Counsel and will report directly to the Development Director.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Performs administrative back-office functions to support all campaign activities.

  • Management of all donor cultivation and solicitation efforts, including but not limited to: Collection of all interactions between solicitors and potential donors and entry of that information into the predetermined database and project management software (Kindful; Trello; Google Sheets)

  • Correspondence with Campaign Committee members and solicitors as necessary to answer questions or provide reminders.

  • Management and provision of all necessary solicitation materials to Campaign Committee members and Board of Directors

  • Management and organization of Campaign calendar as it relates to major events or events

  • Management and oversight of campaign status reports

  • Management and oversight of donor recognition status (i.e., acknowledgment of gifts/pledges, ensuring thank acknowledgments happen in a timely fashion, donor appreciation, etc.)

  • Attendance at all Campaign Committee meetings and responsible for taking minutes and distributing them to committee members.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Fundraising experience for a nonprofit organization 

  • Leadership qualities and commitment to collaboration

  • Excellent organization skills and keen awareness of deadlines

  • Self-starter and motivated individual able to work independently

  • Can-do attitude and focus on meeting goals

  • Flexibility and adaptability 

  • Project management

  • Database management (we currently use Kindful)

  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing community volunteers a plus
