Our Story

ProsperityME was formed in 2008 by Claude Rwaganje, a refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo, who began teaching financial literacy classes in partnership with Portland Adult Education. Many immigrants come from cash-based societies and are unfamiliar with how money and credit works in America. By providing financial education and services, ProsperityME helps new Mainers attain financial stability.

The path to upward mobility starts with financial education, continues with getting an education, finding a job or starting a business which then enables you to build assets. Finding housing is the key to financial stability.
